First Time Venice.

If this is not because of the work, I might be wandering by when I could go to this city.

16.09.2019 finally touched down via Venice Marcopolo airport. A not so big airport, but decent and feel warm. Hello Venice! Gotta do the workshop tomorrow until friday, but put a chance to visit some places nearby. But before that, I will share my experience.

When the assignment came, I was a bit confused whether I will stay only for the event or add extra days to visit friends in Milan and other countries in Europe. then I asked my ticket to stated only Italy trip, while was expecting to have up to six months multi-entries to Schengen countries. But, I was wrong! the Italy Embassy only approved 1,5 months length of stay and single-trip only.
WHat???

At first, I got all crancky, but then I calmly accept the situation. without ever trying further to add more days in my itinerary.
Voila, here I am! a 6 days trip in Italy, for THSN Venice event.

I took Turkish Airlines, flew at 9PM from Jakarta. Was being transferred in Istanbul At=taturk Turkey international airport, got laid only for nearly two hours, and continued to fly at 7AM from Istanbul.

I had no idea how Venice would look like. When the plane touched down, I realise one thing: This city is beautiful because of its old places.
The airport is almost same size as Bordeaux and bigger than Edinburgh city, not so busy but the plane are keep coming.

The passport control also not too long in queue, since not many visitors are served anyway, that’s why they placed maximum four police border officers in the desk.

No immigration card! for Italy visit, no need to fill in anything. Your thumb fingerprint will be recorded in here. The officers are warm and polite too. Feels like home…

Then, taxi is easy to find. they have set a fixed price meter taxi, within distances. My destination is at Mestre area, it cost me EUR35 for one trip taxi. I stop here the sharing and will continue tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the reading after this πŸ™‚
